Get charged at Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai
This forward-thinking hotel now offers an electric car charging station
An electric car charger has been installed at Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai, for use by electric car owners.
The hotel has committed to being a sustainable and socially responsible property.
“The property aspires towards the conservation of energy and water resources, the implementation and utilization of new technology, of which is powered by renewable energy sources whenever possible, reducing operational costs and the property’s carbon footprint as well as making positive contributions to local communities and their environment,” a spokesman for the hotel group said.
The charging station is an effort to reduce the Emirate’s carbon footprint and to encourage renewable energy alternatives. It is one of only two available docks in Dubai located at an hotel. Capable of charging two cars simultaneously, the service is offered free of charge for electric vehicle drivers with a green card charger. A full battery requires four to six hours to charge. Once charged, vehicles can travel between 120 to 400 kilometres before recharging.
There’s another charging dock at the Anantara, The Palm Dubai Resort on Palm Jumeirah, also managed by Seven Tides International, the group behind the initiative.
